Early Victorian Hair Practical

Method:

  1. part hair into a dead centre parting and smooth out hair
  2. section hair from the back of the ear and tie up back into a low ponytail
  3. create your desired Victoria bun, I decided to go with a twist bun as they're very true and historical to what the Victorians would of worn
  4. plait the two front sections into a loose but defined braid, then connect the ends of the plait to the bun and pin into place
  5. hairspray down any fly aways to get a clean finish
When doing this hairstyle I found it rather difficult and frustrating to recreate, not because the design itself was hard but because my partner has a lot of baby hairs and layers. This meant it was harder for me to create a clean look and pin down every stray hair that popped up when creating the bun and plaits.
